Celebrating Safety Excellence

At CM&B, safety is more than a policy—it’s a promise. A promise to protect, to lead, and to build environments where every person on site feels supported, valued, and secure. It’s a reflection of our People.Building. philosophy, which champions operational excellence, nurtures talent, and fosters lasting relationships.

This philosophy comes to life in many ways—but perhaps most powerfully in the commitment of our field staff. That’s why we created the Robert Harrison Safety Award in 2022. Named in honor of a leader who epitomized our safety-first mindset, this quarterly award celebrates individuals who go above and beyond in creating safe, productive job sites.

We’re proud to spotlight our first two award recipients of 2025: Damian Meola and Corey Leonhardt. These two leaders have demonstrated what it means to live our values—and they’ve raised the bar for safety, teamwork, and excellence.

Q1 Safety Award Winner: Damian Meola

Damian Meola - Project Superintendent

Damian’s journey with CM&B began in 2018 as an intern in our Estimating department. Since then, he’s steadily grown into a standout leader in our Operations team—bringing both technical expertise and a people-focused mindset to every project.

Over the last two years, Damian has cultivated a strong relationship with L.L.Bean, leading successful projects in Massachusetts and Connecticut before taking on a bold new challenge: building L.L.Bean’s first-ever Florida store.

Despite the unfamiliar terrain, Damian maintained CM&B’s rigorous safety standards while building trust and collaboration among new partners. His ability to lead by example, communicate openly, and instill confidence in those around him created a job site culture that was not only safe, but also energized and united.

Damian’s leadership reminds us what People.Building. looks like in action: combining professional growth, lasting client partnerships, and a steadfast commitment to doing things the right way.

Q2 Safety Award Winner: Corey Leonhardt

Corey Leonhardt - Project Superintendent

Corey Leonhardt joined CM&B in late 2022, bringing a strong foundation in carpentry and construction, along with the discipline and leadership skills he developed in the Navy Seabees. Since then, Corey has become a key leader on one of our most complex projects—a multi-phase renovation for a confidential medtech client.

For over two years, Corey has overseen work in an active, occupied facility where lifesaving medical devices are developed. In this highly sensitive environment, safety is paramount—not just for our crew, but for the integrity of the client’s critical operations.

Corey has consistently led with clarity, precision, and purpose. His proactive planning, strong communication, and ability to adapt have ensured our work meets the highest safety standards without disrupting essential operations. Just as importantly, he’s created a culture where safety is a shared responsibility—earning the trust of both the client and our project team.

In an environment where precision matters most, Corey has proven that safety and excellence are not mutually exclusive—they’re intertwined. He exemplifies the People.Building. spirit by combining technical leadership with a strong sense of responsibility to those around him.
