Women in Construction | Building the Future at CM&B

As we wrap up Women In Construction Week, we’re shining a spotlight on the amazing women who represent the next generation of construction leaders. At CM&B, our People.Building philosophy is the foundation of everything we do—we’re building careers, developing leaders, and shaping the future of our industry. Our internship program has welcomed so many talented women who are already making waves in construction.

And guess what? Many of our former interns are now valued CM&B team members. They bring fresh perspectives and innovative thinking to our projects every day. We’re not just talking about changing the industry – we’re actively creating opportunities for women to thrive in construction. Today’s interns truly are tomorrow’s leaders, and we couldn’t be more excited to be part of their journey.

People.Building in Action

Maggie | Project Manager

Maggie started as an intern in 2019 and we knew right away she was something special! After graduating from Fairfield University, she returned as an Assistant Project Manager and has since advanced to Project Manager. She’s knocked it out of the park with high-end projects like the Greywind restaurant in NYC and a ground-up Amazon Fresh store. Recently, she wrapped up a 35,000 SF Lidl store at Queens Place Mall and is now working her magic on her second Chick-fil-A location.

Rachel |  Project Manager

With a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from UMASS Lowell, Rachel turned two estimating internships with CM&B into a thriving career. As Project Manager, she expertly juggles estimating, planning, pre-construction services, cost accounting, and subcontractor scheduling across amazing projects. Her impressive experience includes Dana Hall School, a multi-phased project with a confidential MedTech client, Whole Foods Market, and several L.L.Bean locations including a current travel assignment in Florida.

Nicole | Assistant Project Superintendent

Nicole joined CM&B as an assistant superintendent after completing her BS in Engineering at Endicott College and impressing us during her fall internship. Her groundbreaking role demonstrates our commitment to building the future of construction—one where diverse leadership is the norm. Her technical expertise has already delivered impressive results, including a completed Kia dealership in Danvers, MA. She’s currently bringing her talents to our marquee project at Herb Chambers Toyota in Medford, MA.

Abbi | Assistant Estimator

A recent UMASS Amherst graduate, Abbi joined us as a Summer Field Intern in 2023 working onsite at our North Shore Mall project. She came back for a second internship in our Estimating department. She made such an impact that upon graduation, we welcomed her to our team as an Assistant Estimator in January 2024. Her rapid professional development illustrates how we’re creating opportunities that leverage individual strengths and passions.

Emily | Project Accountant

Emily, a super-talented applied mathematics major from Endicott College, completed a fall internship in our accounting department that had us all impressed! We can’t wait to welcome her to the CM&B team as a Project Accountant after her graduation this year, continuing our tradition of building the future by investing in bright, passionate professionals.

Lilli | Field Intern

Currently studying at Endicott College, Lilli’s field internship gave her real, hands-on experience in construction management and leadership. “The superintendents who mentored me throughout the fall semester have been instrumental in helping me define a clear path for my career after graduation,” she shares—which perfectly highlights how we build leaders through mentorship and real-world experience!

Iris | Estimating Department Intern

A Business Management major at Endicott College, Iris is currently rocking in our Estimating Department as an intern, picking up skills that will boost her future career. She brings fresh perspectives, assisting with ongoing projects while gaining valuable skills. She’s an excellent problem solver and can clearly define an issue, gather information, and think of potential solutions which directly impact the department. Her internship shows how committed we are to shaping the future by nurturing talent early.

Grace | Rotational Intern

A recent Colorado State University graduate, Grace is thriving in our comprehensive rotational internship program, gaining amazing experience across three key areas: Estimating, Field Operations, and Project Management. This well-rounded experience will set her up for future success—a perfect example of how we build careers with both breadth and depth.

At CM&B, our internship program is more than just a learning experience – it’s a long-term opportunity to nurture talent and build lasting relationships. It’s our way of turning interns into future members of the CM&B family. This commitment to our People.Building philosophy goes beyond the projects we create—we’re building careers, developing skills, and shaping the future of construction, one intern at a time.
