Chief Strategy Officer
Daniel Hunter AIA has worked in design and construction 30 years and is a registered architect in California, Massachusetts, New York, Florida, and Texas. Dan began his career as an architect with the Carlson Group, one of the country's most innovative design/build firms. Dan's career with Carlson included positions with increasing responsibility and scope ranging from Architect in Charge of the Houston office to VP A&E in Atlanta. Ultimately Dan was named President of Carlson A&E nationally and President of SAE/Carlson Southeast Design Build Division in Atlanta where he worked closely with Kevin Puopolo, who was heading the Northeast Division of SAE/Carlson.
In 1992 Dan co-founded Consolidated Resources which purchased SAE/ Carlson. Dan started the San Francisco, Chicago and London offices and developed the business strategy that resulted in Carlson becoming nationally recognized thought leaders for critical facilities design and construction. The company continued to grow organically building to 13 offices internationally and employing more than 750 design and construction professionals.
Dan started Hunter Architecture Ltd. in 2003. Hunter Architecture practices in Marin County, California and on Boston's North Shore. In 2013, Hunter Architecture began providing consulting services to cm&b focused on strategic planning. In 2014, Dan became Chief Strategy Officer at cm&b overseeing a broad range of strategic initiatives in all aspects of the business.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a BS in General Studies from Louisiana State University. He served for 6 years on the City of Belvedere (CA) Planning Commission with 3 years as Chairman. He also served on the Board of Directors of Meals of Marin which provides breakfast and a warm lunch to people who are too sick to make their own.
